Curlew Flat Painted

This particular, oval-shaped painting shows a curlew bird wandering along in a desert. The picture shows trademark long and slender bills and a bottled plumage of the bird. Curlews are over-protective and avoid flying until extremely necessary; it is a cautious and careful type of bird, which is most commonly recognised through the eerie wailing sounds uttered by the bird at night time. The energy of the curlews would encourage a sense of protectiveness among the family members, especially parents. According to Native American lore, curlews are very protective of their offspring and this otherwise tamed, and harmless bird loses controls only when an opponent hurts its family or snatches the food.
